With nine games left in the regular season, the Washington Capitals have crawled their way up the Eastern Conference standings.

Washington Capitals star forward Alexander Ovechkin will miss the next 7 to 10 days as he rests his ailing body.
Ovechkin is simply banged up from the rigors of the regular season and the team wants to let him heal and rest.
It’s not the best timing, with the Capitals set to take on the Philadelphia Flyers in a showdown for first place.
He needs just two more goals this season to reach 300 for his career, making him the sixth-youngest player to reach that mark. ( Read More…)

The Washington Capitals have acquired center Jason Arnott from the New Jersey Devils for center David Steckel.
The Capitals also sent New Jersey a second-round draft pick in 2012.
Arnott, 36, said that waiving his no-trade clause to go to Washington was the hardest decision of his career.
The Devils have been coming on very strong of late and are making a push for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. ( Read More…)
